Every page, data point, and visualization on the Healthy Basement Society website adheres to these non-negotiable compliance rules. Last reviewed by counsel: April 2026.

Six commitments that govern every release.

These principles are written into our research protocol and audited by an independent advisory board before any data is published.

Zero PII display

No names, addresses, phone numbers, or emails of any resident ever appear on any page. Public data is aggregated at county or ZIP level minimum.

Aggregate-only data

Findings show statistical summaries — percentages, averages, ranges — never individual responses. Minimum ten responses per geo-unit before display.

TCPA compliant

All outbound communication consent is documented. Study participation is voluntary. Opt-out is honored immediately and confirmed in writing.

No re-identification

Data granularity is capped above ZIP level. Cross-referencing safeguards prevent triangulation. No individual home data points are exposed publicly.

IRB-style ethics

Methodology reviewed, consent scripts documented, anonymization process published. Independent advisory board oversight on every release.

Legal disclaimers

Every data page carries a standard disclaimer: “Aggregated research data — does not represent any individual property or homeowner.”
